The Homesteaders is a Southern Gospel quartet dedicated to the ministry of sharing of Jesus Christ through Southern Gospel music. Their newest recordings are already being heavily requested. The Homesteaders consists of a bass, baritone, lead, and alto vocalists. They perform many classic Southern Gospel tunes as well as exciting new material in the Southern Gospel style. They have been described as having the "classic quartet sound." The Homesteaders utilize a variety of instrumentation, as well as performing some well- received acappella selections. The Homesteaders was formed in February, 1998. The original group had their debut performance with the well-known Palmetto State Quartet. Since that time they have had extensive bookings from many different churches to major Southern Gospel concerts with such national artists as The Galloways, The Melody Boys, The Kingsmen, The Florida Boys, and The Dixie Echoes, to name a few. If you enjoy the kind of music you hear on the popular “Gaither Homecoming” video series, then you will love the music of The Homesteaders! We have a lot of fun at these shows. You never know who might show up. Why one day well known southern gospel singer/songwriter Bill Burns showed up and after a little coaxing treated us to a song or two. |
